my favorite movie for him was the part he played in THE GAMBLER. in that movie he was a degenerate gambler that had a bad sports gambling habit. he was hooked to the New York bookies for about $40K. they made him fix an NYU game. that part wound up working out for him.. he inspired me to bet back then on credit with no way to pay. i was betting with probably the worst guy in all of New York in 1981. i had the Dodgers in the world series and they came back to the stadium up 3 games to 2 and the bionic arm was pitching for the Yankees. i bet the Yankees and Tommy John that game. the game gets rained out.. i call the next day and ask for the price, the BM tells me the price went up .30. i hung the phone up, then i called back and said "give me rooten tooten BURT HOOTEN (a knuckleballer)".
the Yankees go up 1-0 and i am saying to myself, he can only kill me once!
the Dodgers come back in the the 6th inning with 3 runs and then 4 more in the 7th and go on to win the game 9-2.
to this day i am still sweating this game out!

I'll go with another movie... Brian's Song. He had so many great roles.

He had a rep as an asshole personally, at least with his fans.
He came in my wife’s restaurant years ago, perfect gentleman ……
Gotta admit, good actor.
I loved him with John Wayne in El Dorado
