Covid

Sweeping through my crew, including officials I'm in close contact with daily. Coming down with it now seems inevitable, which does concern me considering my heart condition and lungs weakened from chronic bronchitis and numerous bouts of pneumonia.

On the plus side, I have been working out frequently, often in brutal heat to the jagged edge of exhaustion, and this particular strain does not kill.

Some of those stricken report just mild discomfort similar to a common cold, while others describe the experience as beyond horrible, being characterized by full-body pain, drenching sweats, an inability to get warm on 90 degree days, and 40- minute fits of coughing.

Here's hoping I can never judge the severity first-hand.

Let's hope for the best. I read that keeping a good level of vitamin D can reduce the symptoms and shorten the disease.

this thing effects people in different ways. i hope and pray that you don't get it. in case you do, the best thing is to drink plenty of water until you are sick of drinking it, and when that happens, DRINK MORE.

by the way, you may not get it, some people's bodies are incapable of accepting the virus no matter how much contact you come with those that have contracted it.

If you get it, use ibuprofen, not Tylenol to knock down the fever and aches.

There's 2 co-factors to fighting off viral infections. Vitamin D & Vitamin A (retinol) Vitamin D3 can help prevent covid from destroying your lungs.

Long story short - and nobody will tell you this stuff... is that for your body to metabolize vitamin D you need Magnesium. When you're supplementing vitamin D, you're also telling your body to absorb more calcium. Thus, your arteries will be absorbing more calcium (we don't need calcified arteries) the way to prevent this is to supply vitamin K2 which comes in two forms mk-4 & mk-7. I recommend mk-7 by jarrow formula... low dose 90 mcg.

Anyway, one of best ways to get retinol into your diet is beef liver. You don't like the taste? well, tough... I don't like not being able to breathe from some Chinese lab experiment funded by our own govt. The only other source off the top of my head would be cod liver oil... which comes in pill form too. (rosita is a good brand) I think carlson also makes a fantastic brand also.

The idea behind vitamin A is that it provides the igg and iga immunogloblin responses in your mucus membranes and blood. Igg and iga provides your body the anti-virus to fight... this is your bodys built in mask. That's why I never told people to wear cotton masks... we were always much better off changing our nutrition. Think about it... did Picard send out the starship enterprise without it's shields up? no, they went into battle protected. Vitamin D and A can and will help.

The obv, beware long term supplementation of vitamin A can cause cancer...(that's just synthetic vitamin A - I believe cod liver is fine) and there's really no downside to the vitamin D besides the calcium warning prior. Mark, you can easily take 5,000 iu of vitamin D3 and not worry about any poor health side effects for the rest of your life. I'm not a doctor so take this info with a grain of salt. Jarrow has a great magnesium called Mag Mind - I would recommend 1 pill a day.

Otherwise, you can look into black seed oil from Solgar... check your local supplement store... its said to protect ace 2 receptors.. Same thing with elderberry syrup.

This is the short of it...

stay healthy and good luck

My wife has this new ba5 thing. she had Omicron over Xmas. This time it’s not as bad…..but it keeps her tired. Called the Doc, he said don’t even waste a test.

Started with a runny nose for 3 days, cough came on. She takes vitamin D-A and magnesium every day. The cough is hanging on. Been on Ibuprofen and Amoxicillian too.

Doctor says hold off on on ivermectin, save it for whatever comes down the road.

*she has yet to have a fever

Friend and his wife came back from a cruise with it. Took Paxlovid and it worked like a miracle drug. They won't prescribe this unless you have underlying conditions. No matter how old you are. If you are over 60 take this as soon as you get symptoms because it's worthless after five days of symptoms. If your doc doesn't prescribe it, google "get Paxlovid medication."
