Well if purses remain at the same level, it WILL become a B circuit. The purses will remain at current levels, but the quality of horseflesh will be of a second rate. You know it’s bad when numerous horses on the SoCal circuit have made their next start at Parx.

No. There will be a horse shortage as purses cannot pay the costs, and Santa Anita will just close. And that will be that.

California racing is already B level at best.
small fields of mediocre horses. I laugh at their allowance and open allowance races and how mediocre the horses are.

To be fair, he said the fields were mediocre, not small.
Field size is almost identical at the two tracks, and field size is an issue at, what, 50 tracks these days?

Interesting how a Triple Crown winner and a BC Classic winner came out of those mediocre fields this year.

Without a doubt the top dirt horses in Socal are far superior to any dirt horses anywhere else. The grass not so much.

Really, Greg?
"Without a doubt the top dirt horses in Socal are far superior to any dirt horses anywhere else."
A lot of hyperbole there, no?
It's a numbers game and it's cyclical.
