No Inner Track at Aqueduct?

Started watching today's racing from Aqueduct and noticed right away, no Inner Track. And just watched the 1st Turf race. Run on a new surface and also noticed the Starting Gate was 20-25 feet from the inner rail. This should be interesting at AQU. Almost like a new Track.

Will the run through the winter on the main track or cease racing altogether at some point?

Except for the inner turf pars.

Until you get enough data, try this good old fallback for fractions...

I'm actually excited about winter main track racing. Anybody else? I know many of you loved the inner dirt meet.

It should hopefully increase field size. Both new courses looked great today.

Database Alert......

So, from now on, the main turf course, the existing one, is the INNER turf course, and the NEW course is the OUTER turf?
Wonder how EB will address the turf course symbols going ahead - all the existing data is listed as main turf.

So far it looks like the new "inner" track has kept everything as it was. It is the "main" turf. The new "outer" track is coded with an 'O' for outer. I think this is about the best they could do. Re-labeling the older track would have been a nightmare.

I was wondering how they would do it. I see the words OUTER prominently in WhoBet's pps today. Thanks.

For those who use BRIS pp generator, this eliminates the flaw in their program that didn't have a symbol for inner track racing. I always had to write the dates down to know races I made pace figures from were main or inner track.

In 2106-17 the inner track dates were 12/7-3/26.

There is a 5 tick difference between outer and inner dirt track and a 6 tick difference between the outer and inner dirt mile.

Hopefully they will have a symbol for the second turf surface.

As you can see by my screen name that was my favorite track. I have no reason to live now, yet am too much of a coward to end it all.

Safety

The Inner Track has likely gone the way of the buffalo
due to safety of horse and rider.

Hopefully, modifications to the main will prove to be a success.

After a month of all those new TURF SPRINTS at the Big A you might find the courage!

I might actually pay attention to NYRA in the winter now that there won't be nothing but 6f or 1m70y races to choose from.
