Same to you my friend. Thanks for including that wonderful/beautiful clip. It gets me every time. It honestly made my day just watching it once again.

Hey fellas...is that a Nebraska clip above? Swear the last Cornhusker I recall is Lawrence Phillips. His football career--and life in general, didn't turn out so well. The 49ers actually traded for him...but he didn't last long there. This was the same front-end mgmt that traded half the team to Buffalo for a washed up OJ Simpson. The Niners sucked for quite a few years before Walsh, Montana, Eddie D. etc came along.

Anyhoo...I'll join the fray of Late P-4 tries:

3, 4, 6 / 2, 7 / 7, 8 / 5, 8 for $1 = $24.00

Phillips was murdered in prison here in Neb.

Side story. My Grandfather was a Raiders fan. We were watching a Raiders game one afternoon when he started to laugh. He pointed out that Al Davis was wearing a Raiders shirt that had his name embossed above the Raiders symbol. He said that if any one did not know who Al Davis was, they were nuts. For my grandfathers birthday we bought him a sweatshirt from a local High School team. It was the Lawrence Nelson Raiders. My grandfathers name was Lawrence Nelson. He got a very good laugh about it, I still have that sweatshirt.

To say that Lawrence Phillips life was a bit of mess is about the understatement of the century. He was a phenomenal talent and a devastating college back, but, that is more or less beside the point given the complexities and horrible outcomes that unfortunately became the major biproduct of his overall existence.

Awesome story about your Grandfather Jay. Very cool... Thank you for sharing. I don't see many folks out here in Central FL from Nebraska, but, when I do, and it is reasonably safe to do so, I hit them up about the Skers. Always terrific to see anyone from back home.

Good Luck today.

Hmmm . . . I doubt Mr. Phillips spent much time in the classroom, so I'd wager a goodly sum that he would not be able to spell "resuscitate" correctly in that note found on him, so I'd say it's likely he had assistance, and not just with composing the note

BEST-FIVE CONSENSUS CANTERBURY 7-14

I didn't play the ponies today-but did get a couple emails from BEST-FIVE users about the great day at Canterbury. Here's one:

"Good evening Greg:

I hope that you and your family are doing well my friend?! :>)) Greg, I have to tell you the "BIG PURPLE" was insanely on fire tonight at Canterbury Downs (on 07-14). You have to see this for yourself!! Not only did the program win every race on the card including the 2nd with the #4 Caterina Iano at $30.20 the purple won the last (6) races with the TOP Selection including the 9th and final race with the #5 Birds View on Top for $37.00 for the win. A 20c P6 paid almost $755, the 50c P5 paid over $1300 and the early and late P4's paid well over $400.00 each."

He even included the Best-Five image:

Well, this is a motley bunch going today @ Lad. Was going to take a chance at a longshot in the 3rd--but he was scratched.

May just play a - late double and call it a day. The 3rd race overwhelming fav REINSURE looks vulnerable--IF there was anything else in the race. Still, I'll wheel that one 2nd underneath a couple decent prices and hope for the best.

Good luck
