Atlanta Falcons

Finally did not shoot themselves in the foot...THis is too good a team for such a dismal record.

NFL observations

First KUDO's to Drew Brees on his record today...A GREAT QB but he has a notable "tic." Even wearing sport glove that help with friction against ball, he still licks his fingers twice each play....Interesting but does not detract from him whatsoever.

Helmets: I though the powers that be wanted uniformity in head protection but I note three distinct (may be more) helmet types out there from the old fashioned on of Aaron Rodgers to the more popular energy absorbing one with the frontal cut out, to a few others somewhere in between...Is it a personal preference?

Troy Aikman: never was a prima donna, just a workman like consistent player and his reporting reflects that all the time, HE, unlike so many color commentators constantly points out the this play or that would NEVER have occurred without a great block here or there and he credits those efforts repeatedly.

Russell Wilson: it is WELL PAST the time that this guy should have earned his FIRST MVP vote...Too many sports writers in the East must have it out for him.

His record held up for a day. Going to probably flip more than a few times between he and Brady.

NFL has a list of approved helmets. There was a grandfather clause until last year when it expired, so no more old style allowed.
