"In a January 28 top secret intelligence briefing, national security adviser Robert O'Brien gave Trump a "jarring" warning about the virus, telling the President it would be the "biggest national security threat" of his presidency. Trump's head "popped up," Woodward writes.

O'Brien's deputy, Matt Pottinger, concurred, telling Trump it could be as bad as the influenza pandemic of 1918, which killed an estimated 50 million people worldwide, including 675,000 Americans. Pottinger warned Trump that asymptomatic spread was occurring in China: He had been told 50% of those infected showed no symptoms.

At that time, there were fewer than a dozen reported coronavirus cases in the US."

And there's this as well -

"A top White House adviser starkly warned Trump administration officials in late January that the coronavirus crisis could cost the United States trillions of dollars and put millions of Americans at risk of illness or death.

The warning, written in a memo by Peter Navarro, President Trump’s trade adviser, is the highest-level alert known to have circulated inside the West Wing as the administration was taking its first substantive steps to confront a crisis that had already consumed China’s leaders and would go on to upend life in Europe and the United States.

“The lack of immune protection or an existing cure or vaccine would leave Americans defenseless in the case of a full-blown coronavirus outbreak on U.S. soil,” Mr. Navarro’s memo said. “This lack of protection elevates the risk of the coronavirus evolving into a full-blown pandemic, imperiling the lives of millions of Americans.”

---

Let's just stop the BS alternative facts that "nobody truly knew!" Hogwash, give me a break.

Then why are we still way below the numbers the doomsayers predicted. Remember the claims of 300-350k deaths ? Nobody knew exactly what would happen. Trump should have left it to the states. The facts show that this virus is still only a threat to a very small portion of the population. 98% recovery rate as of today. And we killed the entire economy

Nobody says the virus is a hoax. Bouts with the flu and pneumonia are also terrible sometimes. People do get these and they also get Covid and yes, some die from all of them.

The thought of this virus as a death sentence and something to curl up in fear over, however, is grossly over stated

That headache was probably caused by the coke he snorted the night before

I used to work with a black lady (very attractive, was into barrel racing). Her account of Michael Irvin was not a positive experience. She almost had to call the cops.

He's still a shit stain apparently

Well, isn't this an interesting comment:

"Sky News Australia's Alan Jones and Rowan Dean...virtually standing alone with Tucker Carlson in the US for challenging Gov status quo and MSM narratives."

You Trumpites can't think or read. All states had problems with nursing homes. As many countries did. Particularly in the early stages of the outbreak. Here in the U.S. your moron had no national plan. All states were on their own.

I already posted a map of each state's net numbers of fatalities as a percentage of that state's number of TOTAL covild deaths. Once again for the reading impaired alternative universe dwellers.

I would think having less than 500 nursing home deaths would be better than having more than 6000 nursing home deaths.

But choosing a metric that does not make you look so bad must be more 'scientific'.
