I thought the whole point of using the SPIKE PROTEIN was so that it would continue to be effective against the original virus and subsequent variants.
Or does the actual SPIKE PROTEIN also change?
These are easy questions to answer, if the process were actually transparent.
But why would there be transparency...when the FDA was originally looking to PREVENT RELEASE OF THE PFIZER TRIAL STUDY DATA FOR 75 FREAKIN' YEARS!?!?!?!

One of my software customers is an actual quant. His job is evaluating data from drug trials.
It goes without saying that he and I have had many
interesting phone conversations these past two years.
I recall him explaining that a new strain of virus typically retains about 97% of the genetic markers found in the previous strain. Or put another way a new strain of virus will typically have genetic markers that are about 3% different than those of the original.
I haven't read up on the exact differences as relates to the protein spikes between the Original Strain, Delta, and Omicron. I didn't think to ask him that the last time we spoke. But I'll make a point of asking the next time we speak.

It's actually a beautiful game (one of many in this world) when you think about it.

Early on, a number of respected scientists publicly warned that vaccine rollout was a bad idea because the vaccines were 'leaky' (they allow too many breakthrough infections) and because, historically, 'leaky' vaccines have been known to drive the evolution of pathogens so as to create new strains having enhanced ability when it comes to escaping vaccine immunity vs. that of the original strain.
Let's see:
• The original strain has all but disappeared in the wild.
• It was replaced in the wild by the Delta strain - which 'magically' did better job of escaping vaccine immunity than the original strain.
• More recently, the Delta strain started being replaced in the wild by the Omicron strain - which again 'magically' has even better ability to escape vaccine immunity than Delta - and far better ability to escape vaccine immunity than the original strain.
Going strictly by the data and based on how the pandemic unfolded:
I'd have to say the scientists who were ostracized, ridiculed, and censored by Mainstream Media and Big Tech for publicly saying vaccinating into the teeth of a pandemic with 'leaky' vaccines was a bad idea were in fact the ones who got it right.
Whereas the Fauci's of the world got it wrong.
