3 KFC stores abruptly closed on the south side without warning…fearing a backlash they gave no warning.

The hits just keep on coming.

Alderman comments:

“ One of the worst things about losing chain stores, be it a KFC or a grocery store, is what happens to your buying power. Where are you going to shop now? The only place you can: the local gas station or convenience store. And suddenly, you’re paying $3 for a quart of milk, $5 for a small box of cereal, $7 for a 12-pack of Pepsi, and $4 for a can of chili.”

Maybe the Alderman should have been doing his job instead of pandering to the left.

Then maybe those stores would still be there.

At a gas station that is a bargain. Regular non sale price for a Pepsi 12 pak is $8.98 here. So none of the oppressed in Chicago have cars? How are they doing the drive byes then? These people are victims alright, victims of themselves.

Exactly. The cycle gathers steam as it breaks people down. A very similar pattern destroyed what once was Yugoslavia. Smaller scale maybe, but unruly violence due to a collapsed economy is automatic. Nobody's going to bail out this country, as we've done with others over the years.
We need to holdout till January, then perhaps in time we can get this heap back on the tracks.

This is so true and most people don't think about it. We have no safety net like other countries do. There may be a few tears from our "friends" but for the most part, they will watch us go down while eating popcorn.
