Conspiracy?
Anyone know what the deal is with Tampa Bay, then Gulfstream, then Parx (Philly) & their tote delay this afternoon? Seemed odd that these three tracks would have the same problem at right around the same time... Details would be much appreciated - just wondering what happened.

Many tracks do not process their wagers at the track itself, they use a wagering hub to process wagers and compute payoffs. Sounds like a hub went down for a period of time.

Yea I figured it might be a hub (working @ an OTB right now); was hoping someone in the know might pipe up. Also been reading too much Dick Francis - maybe someone tried to hack the system ? (I hope that can't be anything but a joke...)

It seems like fixed-odds wagering still involves technology and sometimes there are issues with technology, so how does fixed-odds wagering address technolgy glitches, as you intimate?

Scientific Games is having serious issues at the moment. One of their hubs is out.

Thanks NTamm1215 - wouldn't want to be in their shoes right now.

I just starting another thread, "Held Hostage to states' rights", because njbets is down. From reading this thread, it seems to not be their fault, this time.

I was getting no response at all would have had a losing bet at Tampa. I punched it three times to no avail. Then tried to bet Oaklawn it came back "we cannot process your wager at this time. I would have hit a $260 exacta but when I saw there was a tote delay figured it was the same company. Should be mad but I'm not as long as it wasn't only NJBets I can live with it.
Please don't let Scientific Games get the Monmouth lease.

FYI, Delta Downs, a very player friendly track, is holding up its races until the delay is fixed.
