I got a tweet from @DerbyContenders that Endorsement has a fractured front leg. Also Interactif will not be entered.

I feel really sad for Ritter...but the story says he came back from his work with the injury today...so I assume he was OK, then got hurt...I am not sure of the timeline, but it seems that they were not hiding anything...that the horse was Ok until this last work?

Shame the Setsuko camp opted for the Am Turf as he might have gotten in. No chance they change their minds now huh? IMO, he was by far the dominant closer of this field and would have had an impact behind all that speed.
With the rash of defections this year and last year (we lost the top two Beyer horses 2yrs in a row...Quality and Revenge last year and Esky and Endorsement this year) I think some barns on the bubble will hold out longer in the years to come before choosing another race.

They'd need at least 2 more defections to get in. Pleasant Prince gets the next call. The AT, imo, was a common sense entry.

He can still enter if more defections occur before noon.

The last 3 works were 12, 8, and 11 days apart and based on placings, fast ones.

No I believe he was saying that it wasnt a huge surprise because there has been a lot of speculation lately that something might be up with this horse. Mostly due to his lack of workouts.
