As a group, they win less than they run 2nd, and run 2nd less than they run 3rd.
It is very difficult to overcome that.
But finding good price horses to leverage is a genuine skill.

So true, it is still frustrating though, but eventually one will hit and all is well in my world LOL.
I will add though, that is a hell of a lot easier seeing my 25-1 horse take second and get me the exacta saver than it would be to watch my 6-5 chalk favorite finish second...…..
I have not bet a horse under 5-1 to win in probably several years......and with good reason lol

Value Capper value plays
I had not checked into pace advantage for a couple of weeks and was glad to see a positive discussion of VC. Even better that mhaney appears to be a master at using the software!
I look forward to more discussion. I'll post one or two races but so far this year i have not been close to what mhaney is doing.
Best, Frank

Hey Frank, Nice to meet you. I am certainly no master, as barring a miracle tonight or tomorrow, I am going to have a losing week this week. Think Im about -$300 or so now for the week, But that's how it goes sometimes, looking forward to someone else's opinions using the software too.

Perhaps things have not gone as well so far this year for you, but I know for a fact you are one heck of a good handicapper and contest player and many can learn from you.

Hello All,
Time for the weekly VCP check in, and we had a losing week, not a normal losing week mind you but the kind of week where you tend to want to throw in the towel and re evaluate what I do for a hobby. These type of weeks are fairly infrequent but as I have been saying they do happen when betting long priced horses. I had seconds and thirds all week, but since my style is primarily geared towards win bets, I just pick up the pieces and break even when a horse comes second and that's what happened here. I did not have one winner in the last week. When it rains it pours in this game and this week was a monsoon. Lost north of $730. That's in the past
Im gonna pick up the pieces, let last week go and start another winning week today!!! I will post a few races later this morning. But beware, lol, I told yall it wasn't gonna be pretty every week

VCP 06/19/20
Here's some races I will look at today, probably wont get my price in at least half of them
Bta1 6F MSW14k
PICK: at 5-1 or better
Second on the line behind the ML fav is Wicked Valentine at 4-1, 4-1ML. Closing style on this one may bring the price we need. Like that hot jockey Mojica doesn't bail after the last, hopefully this one can be a little more forwardly placed here.
CD2 1 1/16 Clm5000
PICK/s: at 11-1 or better and/or at 14-1 or better
Tied for second on the line at 6-1 is Carmello ML8-1, who should be pressing the pace with a good shot to win here. The horse tied with him for second the ML fav takes what I think is a negative CD after running vs 8K claimer and finishing ITM 3x in a row. The horse first on the line, Gold Hawk is coming off a lengthy layoff and dropping in class here, if he's ready he will win.
Third on the line at 7-1 is Laddie, ML:6-1, who showed some speed vs 16K claimers in his last before fading.
GP6 1M T sAlwOC47000n1xC20k
PICK: at 9-1 or better
Tied for first on the line at 7-1 is Unlockthepotential, ML10-1. Ran very wide around the track in his last all the while gaining ground finishing 4th by 3 at this level. Hopefully gets a better trip here at a price.
CD5 1M wmd30000
PICK: Complete Surprise at 12-1 or better
Tied for second on the line at 6-1 is Complete Surprise, ML10-1. This one was passing horses in a 7F sprint in last before flattening out. Stretching out again today and gets a needed CD. Should be pressing the pace here.
WO6 6F Clm7500n3l
PICK: at 9-1 or better
Second on the line at 5-1 is Ready's Princess, ML 20-1. Showed a little early foot in last before fading evenly in a 5F sprint, her first race back from a 6mo layoff. Been stuck at this level for a long time and is sure to be a bomb. JS to Ramsammy is definitely a plus and gives me the feeling today is the big try.
SA7 5.5F T sAlwOC51000n$1xc20k
PICK: at 9-1 or better
Tied for first on the line is Shylock Eddie, ML6-1. Ran evenly in last, first off the layoff, and I expect Gryder to have her closer to the pace today and ready to pounce.
That's it for today, wish everybody the best of luck.
Best,
M

Just to let you all know, some of the people that have paid for VCP are not too pleased with me posting here, which I believe is their right. Out of respect to the people who have bought the software, today will be last day posting picks related to valuecapper.
My sole intention of posting here was to give naysayers some idea of what this program can do, both the good and the long losing streaks. Hopefully I have achieved this goal. Hopefully maybe a few of you may be interested in buying the software in the future, but it is not for everyone and takes a big commitment.
PS: Before anyone says anything, it was NOT Michael Pizzolla who asked me to stop posting. The guy is pure class and I encourage anyone interested to reach out to him.
Best,
M

I appreciate you showing us what it can do. Gave me a little more insight on how it works and the time involved to learn how to work it. Wish you the best of luck in the future and thanks again.

Matt.....
I'm surprised it lasted this long.....until the losers came out and complained...
They could have learned something from you.
or
I wouldn't be surprised if it was someone here that posted . He has a knack of destroying good things....if it interferes with his so called " prominent " business....

You should be getting 10-1 on this horse but you would have to beat the (1)
My Point Exactly
Value is one's perception. I don't perceive much value here.
Just my opinion with no fault intended.

The (3) placed and ran a good race. Nice handicapping job for you and Valuecapper.
