Wouldn't you think a father who murders someone who abused their child (days, weeks, or months after the abuse) would be treated more favorably than someone who murders a kind, elderly lady during a robbery?

I believe the sentence would be much lighter for the father. What say you?

I think in a lot of those cases the prosecution doesn't even attempt to get a conviction for murder as they know a jury is going to be sympathetic.

I completely agree. I was suggesting a bias when the murder scenarios are similar.
