I don't see any update on the hearing that was scheduled for yesterday. I would expect to see something in the next day or two.

He’s not going to have any mounts ANYWHERE until he straightens out things at Monmouth first.

THIS is what should be standard punishment.
He made a choice, so no one is to blame for a hard fine but himself.

Hard Fine?
So he doesn't race at Monmouth...big deal
He was only there because of the holdouts that didn't show up
He can now go back to Tampa like nothing happened...
Do you think that the other jocks will have a laugh when he shows up again at Tampa....?
They'll probably say," Your not suppose to get caught , you dumb f^&k!!!"
( Spanish, of course)

"The suspension runs from Sept. 10, 2021, through and including Sept. 9, 2031. Mejia is denied access to all grounds under the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Racing Commission “for any and all purposes.” Suspensions of this nature are enforced in other racing jurisdictions."

Banned for 10 years in US Racing.....?????
Thats rough and still hard to believe...I still think its in New Jersey only...
Article says they "Recommend" taking away his license ...I guess another hearing
And if its really that , how the f&^k does Baffert get away with doping multiple horses!!!!

Since he was banned from racetracks for 10 years, whether he has a license or not won't matter much, will it?
If you're going to pick apart each word, at least try to understand what some of them mean first.

The recommended was for permanent revocation of license, as opposed to the ten years the stewards levied. The stewards are apparently limited in the severity of punishment they can levy, with the racing commission able to hand out more severe punishment.

Here's a link to the ruling:
https://www.paulickreport.com/wp-con...g_Redacted.pdf
What I found most interesting about the ruling is that the $5,000 fine only needs to be paid by the last day of the suspension - in 10 years! So if the Commission sees fit to make it a lifetime ban, is the fine due on his deathbed??????
With respect to the punishment - though I could not find anything referring to the length of a suspension, in the NJ rules of racing, the maximum fine the stewards can issue is $5,000, with anything larger needing to be assessed by the "full" commission. (I put full in quotes because there are a lot of vacancies currently on the NJ racing commission)

Let me guess how this plays out... overturned on appeal.
A good lawyer could argue that it's just a photo, no real evidence. We've seen optical illusions even with photo finish camera where the incorrect horse was declared the winner.
Reasonable doubt...
