Can Irad take out Saez on the last day of Saratoga meet ? Yes he can !

I wouldnt be surprised if Irad takes the top spot today as i project him to win at least 7 races to close the meet.

Luis Saez has just won today's race 6 and has won the jockey's title for this meet. Irad Ortiz Jr. has blanked in today's first 6 races.

Nice to see someone different other than the name ORTIZ or ORTIZ JR on top of the jockey standings

Irad was snake-bitten today, I actually thought he had a real chance at a huge day too, but once he couldn't get that horse home in the 1st I should've realized the omen. Either way the middle of his day was ridiculous:

5th race - 2-1 fave drops him out of the starting gate
6th race - 9-5 fave clips heels & falls back to last a few strides out of the gate
7th race - slammed at start losing about 2-3 lengths at the break, makes a nice run late to lose by 2

9th race - has to dodge stricken horse who backs up into him, loses about 1-2 lengths of position, comes on late to lose by a length
10th race - Wit stumbles badly at the start, makes a nice run to be 2nd

Not easy to have that many things go wrong early in a race back to back like that.

Either way, Luis was the man this meet, congrats to him.
