Nevertheless, if jockeys are sick or hungover or whatever they should not be racing. It is unfair to the horses, owners, trainers, and other jockeys. I know they weigh 95 lbs dripping wet and one beer puts them over the limit. It is just too dangerous with anything less than a clear head.

And my post says if they are sick...
The scuttlebutt is NyQuil which has alcohol. Prescription drugs would not show on a breath test. The beer comment was aimed more at other jockeys.

What meds would cause someone to fail a breathalyzer?

I don't know! At my job my co worker has diabetes, and every so often we have to take a drug test, and he always fails or comes out positive, and he always has to prove that it is from the diabetes drugs that he is taking.

What if he has a cold? He should take off his mounts?

My point is that they shouldn't have to be told when to call in sick but rather have consideration for others if they aren't 100%. I suppose that you would rather they race with projectile vomiting or a fever of 103?

I've read alot of your posts. You say the darndest things. Usually things that have zero to do with what you're responding too.
Projectile vomiting and a fever of 103 sounds life threatening.
I asked about a cold?
