Ferndale,August 18th
After a week visiting family and friends in my old Bay State stomping grounds and 3 days hosting some friends ,I'm back on my Summer Track Trek,climaxing Labor Day at Saratoga.Today, we are at the latest stop of the California county fair circuit, Ferndale.Looks bottom of the barrel to me;Golden Gate opens in a couple of weeks and it appears the better horses from No. Cal.are avoiding this meet like the plague.Plenty of 5 horse fields and lots of the "favorites" on today's card were going off at double digit odds and finishing well back in their recent forays. Ah, I'm already making excuses if I do poorly today. 
All wagers are W/P.Any scratches not substituted for will be a non-bet.

Ferndale is the location of the Humboldt County Fair.Humboldt County on Cali's northern coast is known for 2 things: the giant redwood forests and being the center of the Golden State's marijuana industry.So for our Music to Bet By, I give you Jim Stafford and his 1974 ode to pot "Wildwood Weed"
