The source of the totes

Hi,

Are there some Tote RSS feeds available, whether free or paid subscription? Or some service that allows you to send a request for real-time tote stats for a given track, which you can then receive and process with home-grown applications?

Not the Brisnet Supertote or Twinspires service, but something that allows you to pull in tote data and process locally.

Related to this question, what are the companies that supply Bristnet or OTB with their tote feeds? I searched around the web for a while last year, and also recently, but can't seem to find out the actual names of these providers.

Regards,

Dave Schwartz is the person to talk to about this. He mentioned the source to me not long ago.

LVDC disseminates the tote data.

You can scrape Bris Supertote into a spreadsheet if that helps at all. The procedure to do so has been posted on the board before - you'll need to search.

Hi, arkansasman, thanks.

If http://www.lvdc.com provides real-time tote information, they don't specify that on their site. They seem to provide overnight stats about the races, with updates after scratches.

Hi Traveler,

That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I wrote something similar for a toteboard a couple of years ago, but then they changed the format.

I'm trying to avoid any type of html parsing or screen scraping.

Found a post on the board, from 2009, which seems to answer my main questions. Thanks, everyone, for your assistance.
