Melbourne Cup 2020

The race that stops a nation!
One of my favorites races every year....here's my top three:

5 - Sir Draggonet
7 - Very Elleegant
18 - Ashrun

Using those three on top in a spread $1 ex play:
5-7-18 with
5-6-7-12-13-15-18

$7 win on the 18

That's a $25 play. I've done very well on this race in the last 4yrs but don't feel as confident as I have in years past. Trying to beat Tiger Moth and Prince Of Arran, who will be overbet in my opinion.
Ashrun is a longshot who gets a stern class test today, but I'm sure he will get the distance and is in light at only 53kg.

Best of luck, and who ya got?

Post time for me is 10pm central time.
TVG will surely have it but the live telecast is on CBS Sports Network. Their coverage started about 25mins ago.

Avila is 48/1
to add value to a 20c superfecta or trifecta

Surprise Baby is 8/1
taking a bit too much late money

:21: seems sharp
seems obvious and solid. He could be right there, or you could get lucky and get him out of the flow and out of the exacta or tri.

Of course I bet "the OTHER Joseph" in this race! Some things are the same Down Under as they are here!

: )

man, they had a lot of O'Brian entrants...

woodbinepmi shared that hkjc Form link
didn't see it till late, but the winner ran a nice Irish stakes (you guys may know those races better than me).
Sometimes those are decent class and form, but they have to ship and get the distance...
PhantomOnTour used the in exotics.

21 ran a good race 2nd. He was a 'keyable' type.

Got that #1Van Dyck out of the exacta and tri...

The 3rd place finisher seems to have a habit of being pointed to the race and picking up some late pieces. I think this may be his third? time of pulling that trick off.

Cool race. Very deep field.
My 40/1 was dead last against the flow. I'd use him more seriously if he comes back this year in the right spot at a price. I do like some of the races I've watched. Guess he's my 'unlucky' 'Tacitus' horse from the field.
