Add two years of Nancy and MAd Maxine and those "hillbilly's will loadin' up the truck and movin' to DC!"

My take? Simple - Once again, minority rules in the US. Far more D votes than R votes nationwide, but thanks to the electoral college and gerrymandered districts, the D's only control part of one branch of our government. There is a dangerous caravan coming, though, made up of D congressmen and women carrying that deadly scourge, subpoenaitis!

Prediction - huge gains for the D's in the House, state legislatures, and governorships with loss of 1 or 2 seats in the Senate. The usual Trump echo chambers will view this latter as a major triumph. Wall St. will stage a major rally on Wednesday."

I thought redboarding was when you were touting a correct prediction? Most conservatives on this board could have and DID make similar predictions. Where you failed is by overstating the Dem successes. They were not nearly what was hoped and in the senate they likely lost four seat rather than 1-2. Four is a major triumph and yes, I'm happy as hell about it.

... but who is going to catch the disease? Be careful what you wish for. I don't see Teflon Don being harmed by the House Dems. They will only prove him right about their intentions all along. If impeachment and subpoena's were such a great thing, why didn't the Dems run on impeaching Trump? No need to answer. The truth is already known.

If true, why am I jubilant this morning and why are you still cranky? My expectations were already baked into the outcome and I got a better result. You?

As they say, Trump has 'em right where he wants them. Front and center. In the meantime, we'll continue stacking the judiciary for generations to come.

Yes, historically this result was expected for a midterm. The outlier is George W. Bush's first term, in which the Republicans gained seats in both the House and Senate. Picked up the following from another site and haven't checked its accuracy, but it sounds right.
First midterm election for new President:
Clinton 1994
House -54
Senate -8
Obama 2010
House -63
Senate -6
Trump 2018
House -33
Senate +3

Archie Bunker couldn't have said it better. When I see a post like this it reminds me of how locked in some are in their opinions.

At least you admit the agenda is not the good of the nation, but personal revenge.
And puleeeze - gerrymandering is suddenly a new problem?
And the Electoral College just popped up in 2016?
Did you flunk history in high school?

Where was I cranky?
You're the one that fired off about something I thought we would agree on.
