Friend of mine works in an intensive care unit. He said that it's impossible to die in one, if "living at all costs" is the goal. They could put one in a coma and feed intravenously pretty-much indefinitely.

Obviously, this isn't normally done if a patient is so sick they would never have any hope of cognitive functions again. They just pull the plug.

Yeah...then the Supreme Court could do as Congress does with using third parties to write legislation: Farm out a justice's decision for a third party to write.
