Still, in the telephone calls made by those conducting the poll--how does whether a Republican or Democrat, male or female holding a college degree or not, who is a Protestant or Catholic Born Again Evangelical Christian or not, who is currently serving or has served in the military or not, is age 18 to 65+ making 30 to 100K a year qualify one's opinion? Not only on the question you chose to single out, but rather, on all questions asked on this sadly devastating matter?
What do these groupings (or labels gathered and placed on the public) have to do with determining the horror, the guilt, or the compensation of sexual abuse?

I'd have hung up, instantly, with this bit of data gathered in the poll: "Are you a Republican, Democrat or Independent?"
Political affiliation doesn't have a thing to do with sexual abuse!!! What a crock. This survey isn't worth the powder and shot it'd take to blow up a gnat's @$$ on a clear day.

Pennsylvania voters give Gov. Corbett an overall job approval rating of 47 - 34 percent, compared to 46 - 31 percent November 10. Approval is 65 - 20 percent among Republicans and 45 - 35 percent among independent voters, while Democrats disapprove 43 - 36 percent.

I posted the LINK so you can read all the questions I just thought that one would have been 90-10 the other way thats why I pointed it out and:
Timely and accurate polls Frequently cited by journalists, public officials and researchers, the independent Quinnipiac University Poll regularly surveys residents in Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and nationwide about political races, state and national elections, and issues of public concern, such as schools, taxes, transportation, municipal services and the environment.
Known for its exactness and thoroughness, the Quinnipiac poll is featured regularly in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and on national network news broadcasts. In 2010, respected public opinion polling analyst Nate Silver ranked the Quinnipiac University poll as most accurate among major polls conducting surveys in two states or more. The Quinnipiac poll was also selected a "winner" by the New York Post for the most accurate prediction on the Schumer-D'Amato Senate race in 1998.
Student interviewers use a computer-assisted telephone interviewing system to collect data from statewide and national residents. For a typical public opinion survey, a randomly selected sample of about 1,000 registered voters age 18 and over is interviewed over five or six days. The polls are conducted at the Polling Institute on West Woods Road, close to the Mount Carmel and York Hill Campuses

I thought it would've been 90-10 the other way as well. I guess it all gets back to the old adage, "if doesn't touch you and yours, you're unaffected." Not you, meaning yourself, you meaning all of us.
I read the NY Times every morning, and the most widely known public polling, I believe, is done by Harris--I was not familiar with this group. Of course, this is my shortcoming.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Former Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno had close business ties with board members of The Second Mile, the charity that his assistant, accused child molester Jerry Sandusky, allegedly used to recruit his victims, The Daily has learned.
Around the same time a graduate assistant allegedly approached Paterno in 2002 to say that he had witnessed Sandusky raping a boy in the locker room showers, Paterno and three fellow investors, including longtime Second Mile board chairman Robert Poole, had just secured financing to build a $125 million luxury retirement community, according to public records.

Channel surfing
The first few weeks of college football are in the books.
Is it me, or is Penn State on TV more than ever?
Without fail, on surfing the sports channels each Saturday, I notice the Nittany Lions still have national exposure.
That doesn't seem right to me....at least for several years.

Revenue. It's all about the money, not the moral character of the networks.
They'd show piles of shit blowing up if it meant more money.
