MSNBC, perhaps channeling mostpost's desire to insulate the President as much as possible, has on its bottom-of-the-screen banner, "Malaysian Airlines Crash."
Does anyone here think that this plane crashed? That suggests something entirely different from what actually happened.

While the speculation of who was on board or who actually was involved in the downing of this plane, the fact remains our world is getting more dangerous. Not saying that a surface to air missile (SAM) from Muammar Muhammad Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi stockpile was used to down this plane, but they are still unaccounted for and any drop out could operate one of those. And not to say that anyone can manage horrific events, but it seems the frequency and number of them is becoming very disturbing.

I don't think that is correct. A USA today story from about three hours ago-8:00 AM CDT-has this list of passengers.
Netherlands 189
Malaysian 44
Australian 27
Indonesian 12
Unknown 4
Where do we get this number of 23 American? I first saw it on a facebook post from a friend which linked to the Conservative Tribune. They said they got it from The Blaze and The Blaze got it from Fox News. Fox News got it from "Reportedly" and "Reportedly" got it wrong.

Why? Wasn't a plane crash the end result? I just checked the CNN, Fox News, and NBC News sites, and all are using that term. What would you prefer they use?
Um, well, the plane went down, we think it's a rocket or missile that caused it, we certainly don't have all the facts yet, but one thing's for sure, let's not call it a crash..
But.. the plan crashed. It's a crash site.

Why?
Because crash indicates planes that crash from malfunctions and not missiles.

The point is that original reports said Americans were on the plane and there was little or no official word from our government letting people know that they were at least looking into it.

Yes it would, because it would give them something else to blame on Obama. It had nothing to do with Obama, but that has never stopped them in the past.
I just went back and reread the thread. There were a dozen posts (maybe more) by conservatives criticizing or blaming Obama. There was not one expression of concern for the passengers.
