John DaSilva's mail flyer

I guess I'm so old I'm still on horse racing mailing lists. Yesterday I got one from

John DaSilva the one time Post handicappers who informed me I am one of the

100 selected to verify his revolutionary new handicapping method Thats Certain

TO Change How Bettors play the Races and organize their bets. All you have to

do is chart his plays and verify how he is doing. For that you get a free book

once he publishes it. He gave me 2 phone numbers to directly connect with him.

If all 100 people get free books wouldn't that cut down on sales. He claims its

more of a spot play 3-5 plays ( I don't know if that per week or day ) but he

goes on to explain at the NY Post he had to handicap every race before he

saw scratches and track conditions.

I must admit it is a new way of marketing a new book which hasn't been

published yet so there are a few questions about the offer. Part of me says

call and see what is required but the other part says Buyer Beware.

Did anyone else get this flyer? Is he just capitalizing on the fact punters know

this name and he's gonna cash in. I ain't from Missouri but I guess he's gonna

show us.

I've known John for almost 3 decades. He is actually a pretty remarkable handicapper.

He has, historically, been a bit of a piss-off-the-establishment guy. Along the way he has rocked quite a few boats with his tell-it-as-he-sees-it attitude.

Not endorsing - just stating my knowledge of the guy.

I have only heard good things about John, but this sure sounds more like one of these 800# boiler rooms deals to me.

They seek out "name" handicappers and exploit the name with promises of riches to players. I would contact John directly and see what's up and how much control he has over this.

I have been contacted by these types over the years. All they wanted was the use of my name and my mailing list.

I was offered a pretty good sum of money, but told them to eff off.

Pure Scamdicapping.

Hope that is not the case here. If it is John doing it himself, hopefully he would be smart enough to let people know in this thread.

There is nothing posted about this on his social media, FB or Twitter which sends up a red flag to me.

If a horse-betting solicitation comes in the mail...immediately deposit it in the circular file, where it belongs. And if it comes by email, then delete it as quickly as you can...lest desperation lead you to revisit it later on. Even the "good guys" can turn into hustlers when the winds of change blow against them...

Where do you think horse racing software sellers fit into the equation? Or do they?

When I receive a handicapping product offer in the mail, I toss it away without a moment's hesitation...regardless of whether it's a paper method or a piece of handicapping software. I have been around long enough to know that, in such cases...the merchant is only interested in his OWN enrichment, and not mine. If this sounds unduly paranoid...then I apologize. My experience has convinced me that only the "paranoid" survive in this game.

Take it as a compliment. He probably figured you were winning enough already and didn't need more help.

I don’t need any help losing my money, tyvm.

But out of curiosity, what is the average amount of customers that a tout who sells his picks generally has?

Wasn't Trifecta-Mike doing something similar here a couple years ago?

If it's so great why hasn't he posted his OWN documentation of his own system's ROI? This is a major red flag.
