I think that has always been the #1 important factor with the economy. People spending money believing they can easily earn more instead of saving every last penny.

Let me save mostpost some time:

What Obama put in place was just SO AMAZING, even Donald Trump can't stop it.

There you go. (even though the election of DJT was supposed to be the end of the world as we know it)

Here's another one for you guys.
Of course we don't want to give Obama any credit for the sharp downward trend from 2010 to 2017.
In the light of that, we can ask ourselves what has Trump actually accomplished economically?
Answer:He has managed not to screw up the magnificent legacy he inherited from Obama.
.... Yet.
What a trooper that Donny Boy is.
Let's give him a parade.

Same thing with Consumer Confidence.
That Donny Boy is a master of riding the coattails of greater men who have gone before him.
A real mensch you've got there.

And if Trump wasn't there, that seven year trend line wouldn't have continued right?
Duh ..

For those seven years people I worked with that we're layed off couldn't find a decent paying job until this year.

Read that paragraph again. Try to do so without moving your lips.

Look, I'm self employed. I haven't been actively looking for "employment" yet I'm getting multiple emails and calls per week from recruiters. There's been a rush on qualified talent that I haven't seen for a very long time. Obama has no part of this. Sorry to disappoint you, but the economy sucked balls in all his eight years for people that aren't in retail or fast food (the bulk of his job finders).

The public likes what they see right now. Dig it?

According to the chart you posted, consumer confidence went up 100 points in the eight Obama’s years; an average of 12.5 points per year. Trump added 8 points in one year.
That was, 1. Not as good.
2. Over a much shorter period.
3. More the result of momentum than accomplishment.

I wonder how much of that decrease in unemployment is from people LEAVING the workforce? even after 0bama upped unemployment benefits to 5 years....

If you are self employed, how could you have worked with anyone? Did you mean you ran a small business? Then you must have been the one who laid off those poor people. You dirty rat.

Sorry to clue you in but the economy is more than just your tiny part of the world.

Two years ago I struck out on my own as an Energy Broker. Totally independent. No boss, no employees. This allowed me to help my wife with HER new business... Chess classes for beginners to intermediate levels in the late afternoons and evenings. Again, no employees.

Sorry, not a dirty rat. I do work 10 to 14 hour days consistently though between the two gigs. That would be unheard of in your old world.

Meanwhile the recruiters keep calling. They didn't call until about a year ago...when Obama was preznit I didn't hear a peep. Not a coincidence.
