I have got to be THE worst football handicapper sucking air, but I have been on a modest roll lately betting nfl games at $200 or $300 a pop (not enough to hurt, but just sufficient to fully engage me).

Anyway...I like the steelers -3 at home today vs packers. Although I live and die with Pgh, I rarely bet their games, and never, ever, bet my heart (a form of discipline acquired from an eternity betting horses)>

I saw a report indicating that ex NFL players are a great deal more likely to get Alzheimer's or suffer from Dementia than the general population
as fans we love to watch and don't like to think about this stuff

on another forum a guy stated that he had been winning (his picks were documented) by taking the under on big numbers - doing no handicapping - he was in a contest and said he lost interest in the games

the comment piqued my interest

I unscientifically assigned 46 and over as a high NFL total although it's not very high - maybe I should have assigned a higher total - anyway

then using covers.com designation of the total I tracked all of this season so far and all of the previous 2 seasons when the total was 46 or more

I wanted to see how the unders would do

I came up with the unders winning 138-102_____________57.5% winners_____________maybe not conclusive but pretty interesting - to me anyway
