DRF is making PPs FREE because of site being down
It's better than just reading " we're working on the problem."

That's impressive. Good job by DRF to give them for free.

I wouldn't say its impressive at all. Most of the pps are terrible, no program numbers, etc.
Check out Friday's pps for AP or WO. They are Equibase pps. And they are blurry and look terrible.
Under no circumstances would I call this a "good job" by DRF.

Did you look at Friday AP or WO? Those aren't DRF pps.
Take a look at Bel for Friday...no program numbers or morning line. And don't those pps look blurry to you? This is certainly a slapped together effort. I guess you can't beat the price.

I can't use them. Now I realize how dependent I am on Formulator. I have all of my notes and pace figures loaded and without it I am bleeped.

I see that Thursday BEL was normal DRF, but Friday was Equibase. The Entries for Belmont were drawn before the disaster, but the card with M/L wasn't Final by the time the disaster hit, thus they went to plan B, since they couldn't run their own system to generate them. At least that's what I surmise anyway.

That also happened for a couple weeks after the 9/11 attacks.
But the free ones from DRF for Saturday that I have seen look good, so hopefully this doesn't last long, at least for the PDF's and Print editions.
Formulator, yeah, that's different, totally website dependent. A lot of handicappers, esp. those with notes and private figs, are hurting.

I used to buy and download every singe file 365 days a year until the 9/11 debacle. I fully understand the problems and was willing to wait as long as it took, but what I was not willing to do was not have my September subscription fully filled with the same quality PPs I signed of for. If it took until April, that was fine with me, but they refused to honor the contract we both agreed to. I never renewed and never considered being a full time customer to them. My first thought when this happened was "They still don't have a clue over there at DRF. Still rank amateurs.
These files they are giving away - if they sold them for a $1 day, don't you think they would sell many more than they do for $2.95?

DRF is taking a beating in Social Media. Twitter was exploding today re: DRF site still down. Lots of Tweets and other media by Horseplayers saying they are jumping to TimeformUS or Brisnet in the meantime.
TimeformUS and Bris are obviously taking the opportunity to state it is a good time to try them as an alternative.
Not slamming DRF. I've been a fan of them for years. Just bad luck for them. Sites that are relied upon like theirs can't be down for days.
Good move for DRF to offer free PP's in the interim.
