cj, thanks for the update.
Hopeful and praying for a smooth process all the way through for both you and your daughter.
I can't begin to imagine what you all have been through over these past many years.
You and your daughter are both heroes in my book.

Even so, she keeps a great attitude and has a fight in her I could only hope to have. She has recently applied for a job with the local pro sports team, not too hard to figure out, and made it through three rounds of interviews. An email was sent today and I'm nearly sure it means she made it, has one final interview with a VP but reads like she has been selected. Fingers crossed!
All that said, she needs a kidney transplant and I'm first in line to donate. We found out last month I am a match. I have to have some tests Thursday to make sure I'm healthy enough to donate and don't have any undiscovered conditions. There is nothing I want more than to be able to give her a normal life back, so please think good thoughts that all goes well! If it does, transplant will most likely be in early June. Both of my other children are willing donors too, but if I can avoid them having to do it, that makes it a double win for me.
I'll keep everyone updated when I find out my test results!

Wow, I'm hoping this works out for both of you and family as well. We have some experience with a neighbor girl, friend of my daughter had kidney failure in her early teens. She recd. one from her dad, and a second one from an aunt, when the first one finally failed. She married and raised a beautiful daughter, who is our neighbor now. My wife and I both took her for dialysis treatments after her mom passed at 50 to cancer. She was so tough and never whined or complained. It made me realize what toughness really is. Prayers for you all.

As PA rightly said, both you and your daughter are heroes. Both very courageous. Keep up the good fight. You'll both be in my prayers.

Thoughts and Prayers please
I hope and pray for your daughter and your family C.J. I have never met you in person, but I know that you are among those few good souls that one encounters in life, and the apple has not fallen far from the tree. God bless you and your family.

Best Wishes to all of your family CJ, and I sincerely hope the transplant goes well. I did have a question though. Since it seems Lupus damaged her own kidneys, what are the long term expectations for your kidney inside of her? Said another way, can she expect that kidney to last a lifetime or 10 years? Maybe they have new medicine now that can prevent the sort of damage that was done to her own kidneys. In any case, I cannot imagine being 25 and on dialysis 3 times a week. You're doing a great thing and giving her hope for the future.

report
I wanted to pass on this information -- I hate ear surgery about 8 years ago and afterwards found I had slight dizziness balance problems.. I asked about surgery and was told it was one of the surgeries they shy away from due to unsatisfactory success result and I might end up much worse.. As it was managable I just went on with life.. I lost my wife last July due to Lung Cancer. I also had colon cancer surgery successfully done. After my wife passed I was still having slight dizziness off and on.. I woke up in the mornings feeling like a fog was around me. I got back to taking care of myself by taking Elderberry felt a little better but not great. Then I heard about Quercetin so I ordered it form Amazon.. A guy called in to a show on the net -- His son was diagnosed with Covid 19 & the doctor sent him home. Well, the dad immediately sent his son Quercetin told him to take 3 capsules then 3 the next day.. the son was back to normal the next day...AMAZING. I started taking it about a month ago and I marvel everyday --I feel better than I have in years I take 1 capsule 800 mg
Quercetin with Bromalain. NOW brand from Amazon.. I don't intend to have the experimental jab they are pushing..Good Luck to all
