Thanks for posting that link MP:
Can't wait to see him operating with excellent rest and in very good order hopefully one day very soon. If he comes back to be similar to what he was up to the Belmont, watch out... He will be one tough cookie to deal with. At his best, I can't remember the last time seeing a horse do things with such seeming ease.

Just worked 6 in 110, off a 24+ 47+ 59+ fractions.
Stepped it up a bit in the stretch.
Looked good to me, but what about you guys who know what you're looking at?
Is he back?

He looked great to me. Espinoza never urged him at all. Very sharp work. Good to see, since I am a big fan of his.

I was told today at Parx that Tonalist's people are seriously thinking of running in the Pa Derby, which would make for an even more exciting race, of course.

California Chrome does have a very easy, fluid way of running so it is possible that workout was accurate, so to speak. I watched the work live yesterday on TVG and I did have some doubts as well.
It also seemed to me that Espinosa didn't have too much difficulty in pulling up Cali Chrome after the breeze, especially since the TVG hosts (Simon?) said he was going to gallop out strongly past the finish line.

I couple of clockers that saw the work weren't that impressed. One said he didn't look like a horse that will be ready for close to a peak effort off the layoff and another said he wasn't reaching out as well he expected.
I'm not visual expert, but he looked super athletic and quite good to me. I saw him work live before the Belmont and I think he looked better then than he did is this one, but this was far from disappointing to my untrained eye.
