My 2 cents - if you over-think them, you will not see any big prices. The sub-set of price horses don't look good on paper.

That's the thing....If the angle fits, and the price is right, it may be worth a small across the board wager. Otherwise, you start handicapping / analyzing the entire horse (trainer, record, pedigree, etc) and you talk yourself off the horse.

They are both in the same race....

My opinion :

First off another "hidden" excuse is an outside post....
Most of the time you'll get a bad trip going wide around first turn and then you'll know your done...

As for this race, both are coming out of that same key race....

Both you can say had excusable last races

Heres the thing #2 is 0 for 17 , just not a winning horse ( my standard is a win by 8th start , after that I'd be cautious

The #7 is 0 for 9 and really hasnt been in this class , not like the 2..

So between them....I'd prefer the 7 as a better bet...

the favorite is #11.....as I said before bad post....he'll probably shoot for the lead and waste lots of energy and his closing kick is not good...

Take a look at the 6 and the trainers "2nd grass race" tells me something..

good luck

mike

The and ?, but just a guess. I don't know the results, but the appears to me that it is an improving racehorse, since he was trounced in a key race 3 races back. Or else in that key race, he raced 5 wide. And next race he was again five wide, but raised his SR by 10 points. LR he showed early speed again from the outside. Today he's in #2 post. So then the call looks like it's ?

Have to get in touch with Kyle Chandler who used to play in that show early edition where he got tomorrows newspaper. Looking at these 2 horses alone I noticed Vasques rode the 7 last time and now is on the 2. While Alvarez looks to be something like 0/43 at the meet and is on the 7. The 2 is higher ML and if using underneath for value only the 2 at least finished 2nd and 3rd four times each out of 17 starts.

His post said 5/9. I see now he's posting for today? I'm retired and can't be expected to keep my dates straight. Disculpe.
edit: Looks like TexasDolly was confused also. I hadn't seen he corrected the date.
