Sharin Family Stuff With My Horseplayin Family!

First off just to tell you that you are my horseplaying family. We could show up at any track in the country and got friends! Anyway I love August. After being miserable last August I told myself to schedule all work for before August 15th and after Labor Day. A man must have his folly and I don't need winter vacations! So in the midst of this glorious month the horseplaying starts get inspired. Do good work. Get rewarded handsomely. The greatest thing on earth for a player at the optimal time of year. Not always like this! Tragedy could be on the door step. But you have to revel in it while it's there. If I have been a little too upbeat for some people's taste I have to tell you there is another reason for this. 5 days ago I was glad to be given 14.6 lbs of grand babies! My daughter had twins! Her 2 year old has stayed with me and we hung out at the pool this week a few days and while flipping between Teletubbies and TVG Thursday night we won 5 of 8 races between 4-1 and 14-1! Saturday comes and racked up 4 more wins. Plus I'm looking at these two beautiful babies everyday! Not trying to be obnoxious. Love you all. But had to share this just to let you know why I am so giddy. God has been very good to me this week!

Went 0-2 at Toga today but did the smart thing and cooked a pot of sauce and dropped manicotti dinner off to my daughter and the rest of the family. Babies are unable to set down! LOL! I don't want to just look at em. I want them in my hands! I literally just got home about an hour or so ago. I can't wait to do it again tomorrow! It's just unbelievable man! The racing goodness is just icing on the cake. Some tough races! Love the challenge though.

Congratulations! I am the father of 18-year old identical twin sons. It is a great experience watching them grow up and it is incredible how close they are. All of the things you hear about twins - symbiotic relationship, closeness, same speech timing and cadence, etc. - is all true. My recommendation is to put the racing aside for a while and just enjoy the babies.

Congrats! A boy and a girl?

I predict five years from now, a Reds game with two up and coming Kindergarten types.

Did she name them yet?

Evelyn Rose

Henry William

They were going to change the name of the girl, which they had before my grandson was born but we weren't having it! That stayed. But the boy's name did change. My name is Roderick and they were going to name him William Roderick. I said "Billy Rod" because we men love our nicknames and the girls hated it instantly and was scrapped! So on delivery day I tol my daughter's mom you know his nickname is going going to be Hank Williams don't you?! She was like OMG don't say that to your daughter, you are ruining every name!

Hey I like Billy Rod but I'll take Hank Williams. And I grew up 5 minutes from downtown Cincinnati! Irony!

Thank you for sharing your real life experience. These babies are definitely front and center! Racing work is definitely done in the 12 am to 3 am bracket! But I think racing has a place in the family. I see for instance the relationship CJ and his dad had intertwined through this game. I want that in my family. We will be a horseplayer family! This is a beatable game and IMO the greatest spectacle there is. I will take your advice though. Babies first, races paying 2.80 to place!

The wins come and go. We both know that brother! But I will only be 62 years old when these 2 graduate from high school. That ride going to last a while!

Congratulations Cincy, on the new grandkids, both beautiful , so I have to assume they DON'T look like your side of the family.. Just kidding, big guy!

Enjoy them now, with your enthusiasm, you sound like a great grandpa. But don't forget the track as they get older, you can get them involved.Racing forms, speed figures - it's all reading and math. Entertaining AND educational!

Congrats again and thanks for sharing.
