Watched on Monday and over the weekend. Missing today and yesterday....It was a speedfest...Jump on the lead and your home free. Same with Mountaineer.
Maybe the bettors are jumping on the bandwagon.....

What I want to know is: who is betting these 2/5 shots to win? I mean, we see this so often nowadays. I remember 35 years ago, you might see one a week at your track. It was a big deal when a horse was even money.

This is a great question and you're right, back in the day, it really took a superstar horse to be under 1-1 and now, you see crud horses in cheap maiden claimers going off at 1-5, 2-5 etc.
People have no problem making horses 1-5 and 2-5 no matter what track or what class.
Its a real problem!

People might think I'm crazy, and I admit I haven't tried it and most likely won't, but I think it would be pretty easy to make money using a progressive betting system on the current horse racing product. There are just so many ridiculously obvious races these days you'd have to be a pretty bad handicapper to lose a bunch in a row.

Played the first DD with 4,5/5 and had no clue the visibility would be so bad.

The jocks refused to ride after the 1st race today due to cold temps, so the card was cancelled. It's cold, no doubt, but the track is fast and there are some peeks of sun, so I'm surprised by their decision. FL can't be happy about losing a day of NYRA-dark handle.

No chalk fest today - $124.00 winner!
Or, as we call it around here, the form horse.

@DRFGrening mentioned that the quarantine could affect horses that would otherwise be shipping to AQU..

New York Gaming Commission recommends Lago Resort and Casino be built in Tyre/Waterloo, just 25 minutes down the Thruway from Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack.

Not good news for Finger Lakes.

In two years, there will be three casinos along the Thruway at Exits 25( River's Edge, Schenectady) 33 Verona( Turning Stone) and Exit 41 ( Lago Casino)
Ya know what though. Only players who are not fixated on slots will move to other houses. People are creatures of habit and like their comfort zone.
The Schenectady Casino is 100 miles from Turning Stone. My thinking is the Albany Schenectady Troy Glens Falls area residents will go the shorter route and visit the new place.
Syracuse and Rochester area residents will have two casinos within an hour of each other to choose from

Way to go, morons.
NYS - home of the brain dead.
Let's put a Starbucks at each one while we're at it.
