The Wall and Stormy

Trump wants 5 billion.
Dems ahve refuse to go above 1.3 billion.

Compromise - 2.5 billion.
Trump then sees his magnificent negotiating powers to get 5 billion worth of wall out of the 2.5 he gets. Should be a piece of cake.

* * * *

IF Trump paid Stormy and others out his own pocket, it is not illegal.

If he used campaign money, he broke the law and SHOULD be impeached for it. No brainer.

Whether or not the Senate sees it as serious enough to remove him from office, I will go by their decision.

Here's why that may be incorrect:

"Trump, Noble said, could make contributions of any size to his own campaign. (Giuliani alluded to this, too.) But the campaign can’t just take loans of any size from anyone without reporting them as long as Trump pays them back later. If that were legal, there would be no point in having campaign finance laws: Candidates could accept giant loans, not report them, and pay them back after the election. (The Wall Street Journal reports that the repayment occurred after the campaign.) By not reporting a loan from Cohen meant to aid Trump’s election, the campaign would have violated the law. Had Cohen not been repaid, the violation was his own, as an agent of the campaign making a contribution to it of that size."

that said, nice to see lucid thought from a Trump supporter (Tom).

Trump funded a large portion of his own campaign.
So he took tinkle of those funds back to protect his family from Stormy's blackmail attempt. A tempest in a tea pot.

"Lucid thought from a Trump supporter." Nice to see yet another subtle dig from the king of such.

Good luck proving the payment to Stormy was meant solely to aid Trump's campaign...because that is what you would have to prove in order to make it a crime.

If he were paying her off to protect himself from his wife finding out, or in order to protect his business, EVEN IF he was also doing it to protect the campaign, it is not illegal.

There is no way this Stormy payment or any other payoff to women does any legal damage to Trump. I can't believe people still think this is some sort of issue that can hurt him legally.

Your right... but just like the non crime of collusion that the MSM still harps on and on about. They are doing the same with this piece of weak coffee they keep boiling it and serving it knowing some will drink down anything.

Really not in the History of the US has there been a constant hissyfit toward the President and a coordinated effort to destroy same at all cost.

That's the key point PA, there is no way to prove any single reason the payment was made.

That is how the swamp started.
You say you are going to drain the swamp, quit peeing in it.

That's the key.
But the smart thing to do would have been to clearly pay from his own pocket. You cannot use campaign money to get a haircut!

If you seriously believe paying off Stormy warrants impeachment then most of congress should be impeached. At least those that have paid off women to make sexual assaults go away.

No, using campaign money to pay her off.
If most of congress is guilty, then YES.
How do you drain the swamp if you ignore it?

Looking up the rule for use of campaign money, I see a shell game for fleecing the public. Rules are far too loose. I disagree with over half the legitimate reasons. And I want to see strict accounting for every dollar spent - that means receipts, dates, reasons, etc. The system is set up to maximize misuse of the money.

Trump is free to pay off anyone he wants to with his own funds.
But he is not allowed to touch $1 of contributions for his personal use.

I have not seen where there is even proof he used campaign cash. Hell he was footing the bill himself for the most part. I can promise you one thing. He will not go down on illegal use of campaign cash.

Everything is still to be proven.
I gave a what if case - IF he did, then he is part of the swamp.
Just keepin it real.

btw, has it even been proven that Stormy ever got any money?

So you have a candidate that is paying his own way and he uses his cash to silence some skank. And there is someone that thinks they could try and make a case he used campaign cash?

all you want, but it is certainly possible that he did.
This is the attitude that created the swamp. It is a charge that needs to be investigated and dealt with if needed.

Trust and support, but verify!
