No, but Jared has been doing so without any experience in that arena. So I guess he is equally qualified to be Chief of Staff without any relevant experience in that area.

Oops, that was redundant. It's all about "politics" in one form or another.

So true, politics in the real world often translates into whose brother-in-law (or is it now son-in-law) it is who gets the sweet government contract for, say, FENCING MATERIALS ...?

Yes, and PRESIDENTs also have no experience when they come to office. Any POTUS, whoever THEY want to be COS, whoever THEY feel comfortable with. The POTUS's inner circle serve at his pleasure. He has a right to decide who they are.

I would worry much more about N&S Korea easing tensions and openly crossing border for the first time in decades. Who knows what mischief THAT will lead to? Why, PEACE could break out!

Most presidents have had years of experience in government, usually as a governor or senator. They know how the system works. And if they are smart, they will appoint a COS that knows the system, that knows how to manage people, and that can help POTUS get things done.

Little Kim is playing the long game, pretending to be reasonable and to make the US believe he has good intentions. His primary goal is to reduce or eliminate the American presence in Korea.

I thought that was the problem to begin with.
I will take newbie in training over a professional politician anyday.

Professional pols prevent it being a government of the people, by the people, for the people.

All the more reason to hire a COS who knows how the system works and how to get things done.

Unfortunately, Trump says that for a COS...

One of the key elements of the CoS is to build relationships with Congress so that bills important to the administration get through the legislative process. That just doesn't ring Jared for me.

Trump IS his own Chief of Staff, remember, he is a CEO after all.

Suddenly the Left is concerned about corporate structure?

They're swimming against the current.

I guess maybe somebody --somewhere else-- should make the decisions?

Not likely.

The 24th president of the USA, Grover Cleveland, did have experience when he took office, fwiw.

My Aunt Fal once told me "good health is your first million dollars" so I wish it for everyone here at PaceAdvantage. She was a great artist and I miss her very much. She painted and sculpted and most importantly spoke the truth.

I am pleased to announce that Mick Mulvaney, Director of the Office of Management & Budget, will be named Acting White House Chief of Staff, replacing General John Kelly, who has served our Country with distinction. Mick has done an outstanding job while in the Administration....
