If a nutcase hides his derailment well enough, who would know there's a problem?

That is what Michelle told Barack in 2008.

Rumors are starting in Germany that the co-pilot was a recent convert to Islam.

I suspected as much, also suspect collusion with the German government to kill the story to cooperate with the White House because of some deal with Iran.

Why doesn't anyone consider the simple possibility of the co-pilot having a heart attack in mid-air? There is no law that forbids you to have a heart attack in the cockpit, is there?

The only confirmed evidence (that there was no answer to the commander's knocks) points to a possibility that the co-pilot was dying of a heart attack and may have accidentally hit the altitude lever.

Have we become such a skeptic society that only the sensational appeals to us as highly probable?

The cockpit door has a key pad that lets someone, the pilot in this case, gain entry into the cockpit. The person in the cockpit can hit a switch to over-ride the key pad to keep anyone from entering. The over-ride lasts only 5 minutes, and then the switch has to be triggered again. To keep the pilot out of the cockpit for more than 5 minutes, the co-pilot would have to keep hitting the over-ride switch every 5 minutes. He can't do that if he is dead.

Not only that.. he adjusted the Navigation System to fly into the ground. So conscious act on Co-Pilots part.

"Eines tages wird jeder meinen namen kennen".

"Eines tages wird jeder meinen namen kennen" ("One day the world will know my name").

According to an ex-girlfriend, those were the words that were uttered by Andreas Lubitz, the co-pilot who flew his plane with 150 passengers aboard into the French Alps.

If true, sounds to me like paranoia. Delusions of persecution. Delusions of grandeur. Possibly complicated by other mental disorders, such as depression.

He had a note that said he shouldn't fly that day. Did not, in violation of German law, inform his employer.

Again, two people in the cockpit at all times. The second person, if not a pilot, should be, as they say in German, stark.

Can those doors withstand gunfire? Had the pilot been armed could he have shot his way back in? Just curious.
Then of course you run the risk of the pilot/co-pilot being beat and stripped of his weapon by a passenger.

They said that the pilot was trying to get in using an emergency ax. If that didn't work, a gun wouldn't have helped. Shooting at a metal door could be dangerous to the health of the shooter or bystanders.

If we had heard of family history of premature death from heart attack
I'm sure it would be considered . There are random cases of MI heard of at
his age but with him , it doesn't add up . He kept physically fit from all
reports . It all points to his mental state .
