First time I've ever looked at this thread. Read the whole thing. You guys had a lot of fun watching the mom and now the kid.
Great thread.

The competition for Not That Brady in the Withers has thinned in the past week, as two contenders have dropped out..

Quote:
For the second time in a week, a major contender has been withdrawn from consideration for Saturday’s Grade 3, $250,000 Withers Stakes at Aqueduct.
Le General, who has won two New York-bred races by a combined 10 lengths, came out of his last workout with a sore suspensory in his right foreleg, according to majority owner Jeffrey Kallenberg.
Le General might have inherited the favorite’s role following the news last week that Mind Control, winner of the Jerome on New Year’s Day and last summer’s Grade 1 Hopeful, would skip the Withers to await the Grade 3, $300,000 Gotham Stakes on March 9.
Those defections leave the Withers with a likely seven-horse field.

NTB finished a very game 2nd in the Withers.. didn't break well and lost a lot of ground going very wide on the first turn.. otherwise the result may have been different..

NTB came out of his 2/17 4F work with a quarter crack in his right foot, and has since missed a workout. They were going to try and have it patched, and get him a work on Sunday or Monday. The Gotham hasn't yet been ruled out..

There were some good vibes swirling around in the winner's circle after this race :-))
The first foal from the ultra-popular Lisa's Booby Trap won by open lengths, paying $21.00. at 11-1. The now 5-year old gelding (Not That Brady) provided the first career training victory for Lenin Cruz, and the first career Owners victory for the same Lenin Cruz. There were some very large smiles in that photo!
Other than tearing up a few tickets, what's not to like about that?

What’s not to like about a form reversal on a horse that dropped from 25:1 to 9:1 in the last minute? Oh, I can think of a few things

Yea it's one thing to like the back numbers and to play the horse at a price for whatever reason, looked good warming up or whatever but to show this much confidence to walk up and fire 10k on the nose. That's almost surely something else altogether.

Damn! With all the shitty news around horse racing these days, I thought I'd found a tiny sliver of a feel-good story...guess not.
