Andy is spot on.
Steward have to realize they have an important job to do.
there is ore to the job than getting DQs wrong.
They need to start NOW handing down fines and suspensions. Probably be a good idea to actually have a meeting with all the jocks and tell them - with video example - what the new rules are going forward. Isolate a jock's ride and put the spotlight on them and say THIS will get you days. You got away with it once, no more.
As for 30 days, I agree if next time is is 90.
Should be no tolerance. Adults only on the track.
Paco seems to be in need of some growing up. Stewards should arrance time off for to do it.
Actually, a fair punishment would be Paco sits until both riders are back in the saddle.
Why should THEY pay a heavy price then the ass who caused it.

This. When Maragh can ride again, so can he. This suspension was a slap on the wrist for a repeatedly reckless rider.

Novel concept for punishment.
Suspension until the other guy recovers and rides his first race.
That would turn some heads

When does this start? Is it under appeal?
Paco just won the 4th and had a similar quick 2 lane change at the top of the stretch without much room.

Lopez hasn't ridden since Feb. 3; the suspension has been applied.
Luis Saez must have appealed one or two of his suspensions. From Marty McGee's twitter on Feb. 3:
Leading @GulfstreamPark jockey Luis Saez has been suspended an additional 5 days by the stewards for a riding infraction aboard Blakey in R6 here yesterday. That's on top of the 5 days he got for a DQ on Thursday. Assuming no appeal, Saez will be ineligible to ride until Feb. 18."
But Saez has been riding and has mounts through Sunday (tomorrow).

Paco just got a 60 day vacation for careless and stupid riding over the weekend.
I do believe he will miss a lot of big $$$ mounts on Derby day.
GOOD!

I thought Derby day was a "designated stakes" day so he could ride, but looks like Stewart already pulled him off the Oaks mount so guess not, shrug

Adios, Paco. The fewer dumbasses like him in racing, the better...

I had to watch it, Paco was riding Itsmyluckycharm in 11th race on 4/14 at GP. I wonder why he is still riding though, is it being contested?
He cut off the 1 going into the first turn to get to the rail from the 4 spot. On the turn for home, I actually think the horse he was riding did as much of the pushing as Paco caused problem. The horse wanted through a small hole, made contact with another and the horses had a shoulder shoving match and Itsmyluckycharm won, making more than enough room to get by.

Also, while he was riding on appeal, he did this in a stakes race and they didn't even look it. No doubt in my mind it was intentional as the other speed (at 7-5, he was 3-5) was right next to him on the 4.
