Women jockeys with 1000 wins
Presented below is a list of the 18 women I could verify have won at least 1000 races. This is probably not an exhaustive list, so if anyone can think of someone who should be on it (or needed corrections) ...

Cindy Sue Springman (1987-1989),
Cindy Noll (1990-2005),
Cindy Murphy (2006-Current)
____________
Females should stick to their maiden name for record-keeping/past performance data purposes.
There really is no need for a metamorphosis from Cindy Sue Springman to Cindy Murphy, IMHO.

What an astounding win pct for Julie considering she mostly rode at A class tracks. She's one of a kind for sure.
Rosie is great and she's winning 18 percent after 5k mounts, so that goes to show you how hard its going to be to ride 20k mounts and still maintain that 17% win rate.

Over 1600 wins according to Equibase. http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbJ...o.cfm?eID=1989

I was thinking the same thing looking at the stats. 21,000+ starts at top tracks with those numbers. Pretty darn good.

AND, she is the world's leading authority on the art and science of horse racing. If you don't believe me, just ask her husband.

Thanks.
Therese Powers looks to have started riding in 1980 and won 852 of 7,091 starts.
Sheila McKenna-Santage (Equibase has her as Sheila McKenna) has online records going back to 1976 and the 1974-1976 ARMs provide three more years back to 1973. All told, 655 wins from 5,798 starts.

The articles printed at the time of her death list her has having won more than 1000, but I can only verify 754 for Denise Boudrot from 1973-1985 via Equibase (for 1976-1985) and the DRF ARMs covering 1973-1975 (the 1974-1976 editions). According to one article she got her first license in 1972, but I can't imagine she won too many that year.

I'm working mainly from Equibase figures (and when appropriate DRF American Racing Manuals). Equibase lists Kim Stover with 359 wins. I can't find a link on the AQHA website for stats on older jockeys, and for current stuff it seems to point to Equibase. So, who can prove what her actual totals are even if we include QH numbers for jocks who rode both?
