Hmm.So if you buy something made in China that needs assembly, it must then be your responsibility to translate the instructions from Mandarin.


Airlines are the customers.Boeing is the vendor.Vendor bears responsibility for supplying documents in a language understood by the customer.

Hmm. So do you feel how and where advertised and how and where sold should play into it?

Do all the gas stations in the United States need to have all their products with Spanish language in case a southern visitor buys it that does not read English?

Customers are in the United States where the predominant language is English.I'm quite certain that estaciones petroleo in Mexico have ellos senales se en espanol.

And a Boeing built airliner is not a $12.99 toaster at Wal Mart.When the price is 125 million a pop,instruction alerts are on them.

I don't have any evidence of anything because I was responding to Tom's opinion that customers are responsible for translating documents;I disagreed with that premise.

But it the airlines that train the pilots, right?
How did they train them if the did not translate it.

And what law says Boeing has to translate?

International flight crews are required to be proficient in spoken and written English. Technical manuals like that are typically difficult to read in the original English. It's hard to imagine trying to translate them, especially into languages that use characters, like Chinese.

They have to have a thorough knowledge of the English language to communicate with air traffic control, which is standard worldwide.
I suppose a group of translators should be posted in the tower to give instruction to pilots with no English skills. Control features and manuals in the cockpit are in English also. I suppose the panels should be littered with various translations also.
Trying to reason with a liberal on such simple issues is a challenge. There's a simple explanation as to why, but I'd get red lights and a ticket because its really offensive.
