Sweet! Did you check out TIGER DAD @ DM today? Everything pointed to that horse--I figured he would pay $2.80 or so.

He paid a generous $6.00--not bad for an almost-LOCK.

I made up a TRACK SHEET for Del Mar...sent it to the gentleman that runs the Del Mar site. If it's approved (how could it not be-it's free)...you can see my handsome mug over there alongside Track Phantom, Brad Free, and so on.

Several years ago I used to spend days making up spot plays. Most weren't very good, but I did find a few gems. I'm not sure if there ever was/is a mechanical spot play that's solidly stand-alone profitable.

I wanted spot plays that would alert to to a situation--unusual running lines, Maiden 2nd Timers, Hidden Pace plays...you get the idea. When these situations came up...the handicapper takes a look, and decides THEN whether a wager is warranted.

With this in mind I came up with a spot play I named EASY MONEY. The goal was to find horses that SHOULD be well-bet. Here's the rub...most of them are well-bet. BUT--not always are they odds-on favorites. I put this play into an obscure program we sell called PONY PICKER. I never uttered a peep about it-but it was working exactly as I had hoped. It turned out to be maybe the best spot play I have. Bid your time and with patience, you'll find a horse that's a good price on the list.

This exact same play I also put into SPEED DEMONS. This was from Gulfstream today:





When I noticed those two 6-1 horses on the list--I bet those two and paid no attention to the 2 favorites (who won anyway without my financial support).

I never hear from anyone using the "TOP E-1, E-2" play on the Best-Five program. I'm pretty certain no one used it at Mahoning today...it nailed TW0 $40.00 horses, in consecutive races.
The reason that play is there...is for fast tracks--the top early speed is right there with a click of a button. Makes it convenient as hell. Another good one is the SPEED" button...get the list of horses with the highest-last race speed. It's pretty mundane except the times you notice one or two on the list - is 8-1 or better. I've hit some huge longshots with that--all at the click of a button.

Give it a look, if you have BEST-FIVE...and if not--why not? Makes your handicapping much easier.

Hallelujah! My "Horse Watch" is working once again, at DRF. I simply re-registered a new email and log-in, and I'm in. I can finally take down the charts I have tacked up on my walls, with the horses I'm interested in circled.

You may not know this--Del Mar offers parlay wagering now. It's fun and you can turn a few bucks into a nice profit. Just remember--every time you add a horse as you go down your list--remember to set THAT selection as a win-place-or show addition. The first time I tried it...I set the 1st pick on SHOW--not realizing you have to set that for every horse. It defaults to "Win", and that's what I had for every other horse in the parlay.
