He's struck me as very good relative to the LRL colony.

When I first followed more seriously I dismissed a bunch of his success to riding low-priced favorites and Ness horses. However, he's legitimately good.

He still rides a lot for Ness--I believe he rode in New York (including Fingerlakes) a few years back and Angel Cordero may have been his agent-I am not entirely sure--Looks like he made a good move

yes, 4 Ness wins today.

from DRF of his Finger Lakes resume; "he won five riding titles from 2013-2019"

Thought the name looked familiar. I'm not a FL regular, and I am just this past year getting more into mid-atlantic (he lead Delaware in '21 & '22).

I have no real assessment or understanding of Rodriguez's physical attributes (and possible flaws like struggle to make weight or chronic injuries) or even what exact strengths he has (other than at least avoiding mistakes on favorites and positioning them to allow for success).

I've first noticed him as a standout, and become a fan watching him this year at Laurel. There's no doubt to me that on his good days he is the best jockey on the grounds.

I'm 100% sure that I'm biased when it comes to imagining whether he could be successful at Grade 'A' circuits.
I don't think it's ridiculous to say that he would do fine in NYRA winter meet. Arguably that is more like a 'B-' circuit on most days, but is a notch above Maryland and Delaware.
He does pick up some mounts at Parx, as well.

Strong finisher who can get piping hot. Prone to cold spells and the occasional phone it in ride, which in my opinion, rendered him a bit overrated when he rode this circuit. At any rate, the guy far from dominated the way advance billing and pure talent suggested he might.

If I recall, he did have nerve and a penchant for saving ground.

Thanks Mark. I highly respect your opinion and scouting.

I get to know the idiosyncrasies of the A-circuit star jockeys through repetition, and occasionally a few others that happen to surprise me when watching replays for each circuit.

However, a lot of the time with other jockeys I don't get very specific.

There's jocks I simply know to be 'good' or bad for results, and good or bad for prices (e.g. Irad is one of the best riders, but also occasionally is over-bet).

Didn't know Rodriquez rode MNR (hell, I didn't connect that it was the same Rodriguez from occasional spot-plays at Finger Lakes, until yesterday .

Don't know when he rode at MNR, but he seems to have found a good groove.

It's gotta make a jocks life and drive better to ride first call for supertrainers like Ness and other chalks at decent purses.

I remember a day at LRL not too long ago where the simulcasters where saying "just bet Rodriguez" after he won with a few chalks, and then proceeded to win with a 20/1 shot up the rail whom didn't figure in my exacta wager. "Who is this guy?"

Very good jockey, can bust horses out of the gate and knows how
to rate a horse.
