I have to bite my tongue at what some people get away with and I am guessing Vic shared an embarrassing moment from being a teenage male and got handed a suspension? I am assuming he didn't do it on company property? I will shut up before I make a banned political statement.

Getting suspended is sure better than dying in a plane crash ... just a couple of the assumptions i've heard.
Vic was talking about a break so he could attend an NHC tournament. I'd believe something from Vics mouth rather than the twitter rants.

He left a week early and Byers had earlier announced he was coming to Oaklawn to work on the television feed, not to call races.
That points towards onanistic oversharing.

This is the latest from the DRF:
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Jim Byers will be serving as the announcer at Oaklawn Park for the immediate future because Vic Stauffer is no longer with the track as of this week, an Oaklawn executive said Thursday.
Byers is the regular announcer for Lone Star Park near Dallas, which opens its meet April 13.
“At least in the short term, Jim is going to assist us until he has another engagement,” said Wayne Smith, general manager of Oaklawn.
Smith would not comment on the reason Stauffer will not be calling Oaklawn races, other than to say he is no longer with the track.
Daily Racing Form has left a message for Stauffer.
