Thanks Mark. I highly respect your opinion and scouting.
I get to know the idiosyncrasies of the A-circuit star jockeys through repetition, and occasionally a few others that happen to surprise me when watching replays for each circuit.
However, a lot of the time with other jockeys I don't get very specific.
There's jocks I simply know to be 'good' or bad for results, and good or bad for prices (e.g. Irad is one of the best riders, but also occasionally is over-bet).
Didn't know Rodriquez rode MNR (hell, I didn't connect that it was the same Rodriguez from occasional spot-plays at Finger Lakes, until yesterday
.
Don't know when he rode at MNR, but he seems to have found a good groove.
It's gotta make a jocks life and drive better to ride first call for supertrainers like Ness and other chalks at decent purses.
I remember a day at LRL not too long ago where the simulcasters where saying "just bet Rodriguez" after he won with a few chalks, and then proceeded to win with a 20/1 shot up the rail whom didn't figure in my exacta wager. "Who is this guy?"
