still trying to decide whether or not to hedge in R9.............they're all covered, but i dont want the so i might bet him as cushion as he'll deflate the p4 payouts

Kind of a good news, bad news deal here, and its useful to notice the double-edged sword of multi-race wagering.

GOOD NEWS: In the race that I bought, I got a $15 winner, and in the one after that, my single ( ) got home, so I'm alive to 8 horses in the finale, and ALL of them for more than a buck. Payouts should be decent if not earth-shattering.

BAD NEWS: In order to get there, I hedged in R9, putting in some Win bets on the and to off-set the cost of the P4 should those horses win. SO, now I'm alive to many, but also in for an extra 3.5 units in Win bets, meaning I deflated my own P4 prices. That's why they call it gamblin', I guess.

+++ We'll see what the P4 payouts are to see how I feel ultimately about my decision, but I AM happy that my single in R9 came through, that was helpful.

UPDATE: I went back and did the math here, and I have $1,050 invested in the P4 and hedges that didn't win.

HOWEVER, with the exception of 2 horses (the and ) in R10, I'm alive to all others for a minimum net profit of $200 (a $2 winner to the ) all the way up to a $6K payout ($3 to the ), with a wide range in between................here's to hoping!!

Alive for 5 twice - which will pay nice. If I hit it though - I won't sleep at all. I can't believe I didn't use the 4 in the first leg.

Menifee i feel ur pain but in a different way.
I thought in race 5 the 9 Cranberry Queen was a throw out. Which i did and still had no 4 on my tickets. Like you alive to 5 but am rooting against myself. I seriously deserve to rip these tickets up.

Amazing all are carryovers. We had the pool possibly.

Good Luck to all

She was a throwout and I knew it, but I still freaking used her. Contessa is at 4% right now, but I got suckered in by the odds.

There's a guy on here named Phantom - he's a pretty good handicapper and posts his tickets, he used the 4. I had the horse on my ticket (because I couldn't find anybody else but the 8 and I knew I needed another horse) but I needed to save money and couldn't bet Lemclud so I went with the freaking chalk. What was the pool on the Pick 6?

I am only 3 outta 5 in the P6 so no hope of a conso payoff

Carryover like $430,000
