exotic wager calculator
Does anyone know where I can get an android app that will calculate part wheels for trifectas and supers? Or at least a web or download-able one? There used to be one that was java based at horsehats but that page won't load anymore.
Thanks for anyone with help or advice. If you by chance can describe the permutation math that would be cool too, I'd like to know if anyone does know how to do that calculation, something like 1,2,3 with 3,4,7,9,10 with 3,4,7,9,10,11,12 with 9,10,11,12 etc. you get the idea.
Best,

The Del Mar Mobile app by Parallel 6 in the Google Play Store has a betting calculator in the Racing Info section.

He's looking for an app that runs on Android, not Windows. There are lots of vertical exotics calculators online for Windows. I've not heard of one for Android yet.

Installs quickly from the Google Play store. Betting Calculator is under Racing Info.

Today's Racing from Equibase (free) for Android has a bet calculator built in that you can use using an actual race, or you can use it with no specific horses and just numbers, to calculate all wagers.

You used a more complicated example but it is basically multiplying the unique runners in each leg. In your example 1,2,3 with 3,4,7,9,10 with 3,4,7,9,10,11, 12 the calculation would be as follows
For the 1 horse, the calculation is 1 times 5 times 6, 30 combinations. Since you didn't use the 1 horse in the second leg, any of the five could finish second. Assuming one of the five finishes second, that means it couldn't also finish third, thus only six of the runners could be in that position.
Same 30 combinations if the 2 horse wins.
If the 3 horse wins, it is 1 times 4 times 5, 20 combinations. If the 3 horse wins the race, it can't finish second so you only have four possibilities in that position. If one of those horses finishes second it can't finish third, so you take out the 3 and that horse, leaving 5 possibilities.
Your total combinations are 30+30+20=80.
Most trifecta or super calculations are simpler and only require one multiplication for the total combinations. For example, 1,2,3 with 1,2,3,4,5 with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 would be 3 times 4 times 6 or 72 total combinations.
A super with 1,2,3 with 1,2,3,4,5 with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 would be 3 times 4 times 6 times 5 or 360 total combinations.
Since I've had to do these calculations since long before smart phones and apps, it's not so hard for me, but I would agree it would be handy to have an app to do it for you. If you are using any of the ADWs they will calculate the bets automatically too.

Great stuff, thanks for taking the time. I'm actually quite good with math and I follow completely. Now that I have the more substantial reasoning down, it's just a matter of time and concentration. I also found an exe that is just like the old one at horsehats that I have on my cpu, but can't convert it to .apk yet.
Thanks, again. This type of super was a slight variation off of the pyramid, and that's what I was asking about.
Best,
LSKid

I used one for the iPhone but it is not supported by the current apple software release. Several out there for the UK but no help in US. The DRF has a Pick 6 calculator and they are promising to broaden it at some future date.

Found one for the iPhone called Keep Track. A bit cumbersome from the one I used to use but is ok. Go to the Apple store it is free.
