Yeah, that's true. Performance on the track isn't always indicative of performance in the breeding shed. But if I'm paying big money for a stud fee, I prefer a horse that was trained by a square guy. I'd bet that Orb turns out to be a better sire than Justify.

And look, I don't think you can race a horse at the top level on just hay, oats, and water. If you do, I don't think you're gonna get much. But there's a line in there somewhere.

Anyway, people will defend Laz, but this is a pretty good read:

is there ever a horse that came from the west coast and beat an east coast horse that you felt was on the square?
