Curlin's First Baby To Race
Stonestreet Stables' two-time Horse of the Year Curlin is expected to have his first foal to reach the races make her debut in Wednesday's 1ST race at Arlington Park when Pin Oak Stables' Evolutionary goes to the post against six other two-year-old fillies. Evolutionary, out of the Gilded Time mare Gilded Wings, is trained by Arlington-based conditioner Donnie K. Von Hemel

Always exciting to see the progeny of those we cheered on.
She's a chestnut too! Safe trip to her!
BTW Hot Dixie Chick has a 2012 foal by Curlin . They named him Union Jackson .

Dam side influence?
Curlin was a terrific racehorse on dirt, but less so on synthetic.
Interesting to see his first baby runs on the carpet at AP.
Let's hope this youngster gets a little all-weather ability from his mom.....

Although it was over 1 month ago and only at 2f, the workout on 4/28 for Evolutionary at 2f in 23 and 3/5 was 6 lengths better at the distance than the other Von Hemel runner that trained at 2f that day. That's pretty substantial at that distance. Of at least 10 Von Hemel 2yo horses that have worked at Arlington at the 2f distance, Evolutionary is the only horse to break the 24 sec mark.

Jessica,
Thank you. You do a great job at Arl and GP with John and Ron.
I will definitely be watching Arlington today. Love the turf races at Arlington.
Is Donnie Von Hemel really 0/49 with first time starters?

I don't believe they've announced what they're going to/have registered him as, but I thought I read his barn name is 'Taco.'

yeah, he really is. He's one of those trainers that has a much higher percentage with 2nd time starters.
I love the Donnie K 2nd time starter angle!

Us Arlington viewers know... You mention it alot
All joking aside, it is a good angle and his stats between 1sters and 2 start outs are night and day.

Broke slowly. Made a rail move from the 1/4 pole to mid-turn; and then just seemed to lose interest & went up and down through the stretch. I guess you could say she looked green but don't know if she took to the track that well.

Is right about now the earliest you typically see 2yo races starting?
Edit: Here's the chart from Evolutionary's debut:
