Apparently all those people in Italy and Spain- and a few here in California- were killed by the media. Who knew?
The health authorities here would love to keep businesses open. The notion that any elites think it is great to shut down business and tank the markets is nuts. They are doing this because it is a real threat.

The 60,000+ killed by the flu in the USA during particularly nasty seasons probably wish they had some social distancing...or don't they matter?
I think we should all hide in our houses every year from now on...how about you?
Say, starting around Halloween and ending around St. Patrick's Day?
Think of the lives we could save.

The Coronavirus is more virulent and more deadly than the flu. There's a whole bunch of actual scientists telling us this, but, in 2020, everyone thinks they are an epidemiologist. Sigh.
At any rate, I am thankful the authorities here in Southern California are out there trying to protect my health, which is quite a bit more important to me than whether horses are racing at Santa Anita.

YGBSM!!!
You better come back down to planet earth, dude.
Reality is going on down here.
You think the authorities in Southern California are helping you out, then
you are in a world of hurt. They are in over their heads.
We can't all just sit home with our heads up our butts and hope it's all going
to get better.
Some of us need to get it in gear and figure this thing out.
Horse racing is at the pointy end of that spear.
ZERO cases.... I say again.... ZERO cases.....
Riders up at Santa Anita!!!!!

Huh? So the entire world is shutting down as an overreaction?

We can't stay at home forever. As Senator Kennedy says, "Poverty kills too."
Big strides in medicine are being made to combat this virus.

Thankfully, the people who are actually protecting me don't get their information about pandemics from Internet message boards.

To support the efforts of the Stronach Group and the California Thoroughbred
Trainers to persuade the LA County Department of Health to rescind its order..
You can read this article. It will give you a contact point to urge the board to
rescind this ridiculous order. Protocols are in place and there are zero positives
there.

Please help.
P.S. I have no affiliation whatsoever with racing in California.
I'm just a fan.

A copy of my letter:
Dear Kathryn,
I thank you for the work you are doing. I also hope your family is well.
Please rescind the order for Santa Anita so they can continue racing.
They have protocols in place and are bringing in money for the state.
Also, horses would have to be destroyed. And the lives of the backstretch workers will be ruined.
They have a closed ecosystem. They have zero positives of covid-19.
They will not embarrass California or the nation.
Trust them.
The Nation is also depending on them for one of the few entertainments that we can now enjoy.
Thank you very much for your prayerful consideration,
