We are already a long way there given we've promised trillions of dollars in SS, medicare, and pension benefits we cannot and will not make good on. But if we keep promising more it's going accelerate the process and make the end result even worse.
This country is far from being a third world nation. Not even close.

All the absurd alt right pseudo-conservative talking points about bring crushed by social programs is kinda hypocritical considering how badly the Trump tax cuts for the top tier 1% individuals and corporations have ballooned our real crushing debt

I assume you are misunderstanding, but when the bills come due on our public debt and then come due for all the unfunded liabilities of SS, Medicare, and Pensions, the government will have no choice but to make massive cuts, print loads of money, and raise taxes to prevent a collapse of all those systems - which of course will cause a collapse anyway. We ARE on the path to becoming a 3rd world country. Most of the public simply does not know or understand it yet because the accounting is difficult to explain, most of the media is corrupt, and politicians are even worse. They are lying.

Trump cut taxes across the board, but any across the board tax cut helps the rich more because they pay most of the taxes.

I wouldn't have cut taxes UNLESS I was also able to slow the growth rate of spending by enough so the entire package had a neutral or positive effect on the deficit. While I understand why Trump cut taxes and agree with the thinking, it was a bad idea without controlling spending.

Such a brave position...

Careful muttering dollars and cents... debits and crebits... with the Trump folk.

Those rules don't apply to the Wizard from Wharton.

Debt is the elephant in the room. I recently saw an old You Bet Your Life episode with Groucho Marx. Groucho remarked that the national debt (1954) was 184 billion dollars, and he said it so sarcastically that you knew at least he thought that was a lot of money. And it was. It still is.

Or default, which is the simplest, and the way things are going the most likely.

What other choice do we have?

They will sweep this under the rug until the rug has worn away. I'm sure I'll be dead by then, but those still living will not be facing a pretty picture.

Cheap labor? Ask Chunpy.....

Trump Lied About E-Verify During 2016 Campaign

https://www.motherjones.com/kevin-dr...2016-campaign/

As we all know, nothing matters. Still:

From campaign...
https://www.washingtonpost.com/busin...=.e0f64242ffe5

President Trump’s company plans to institute E-Verify, a federal program that allows employers to check whether new hires are legally eligible to work in the United States, in every one of its golf clubs, hotels and resorts, following a Washington Post report that its club in Westchester County, N.Y., employed undocumented immigrants for years….The move is the first acknowledgment by the president’s private business that it has failed to fully check the work status of all its employees, despite Trump’s claims during the 2016 campaign that he used E-Verify across his properties. At the time, he called for the program to be mandatory for all employers.

Just another routine lie. Is there anything he actually told the truth about during the 2016 campaign? There have to be one or two things, don’t there?

Opposition to E-Verify comes from the right not the left...

Why hasn't Trump's Administration done that?

Answer:

Because opposition to E-Verify comes from the right... not the left...

Those farmers he loves so much also love hiring illegals...

But instead you want to blame a court for some fake ruling on a case that doesn't exist because... partisanship.

No just stating a FACT if Trump wants it... they must oppose it.

Kinda like the wall... fencing... border barrier... whatever you want to call it... they agreed to it and backed it (H.R. 6061,) till Trump wanted it.
