you don't perform you don't stay. has always been Trump's philosophy and that hasn't changed. I think his voters appreciate the fact that he has the will to fire shitty government employees. Maybe the rest of them can follow his lead.

Kelly was a shitty employee? Everything I've seen indicates that Trump hired him to do a job and then fought him when he tried to do it. Kelly was supposed to be chief of staff, and Trump wants to be his own chief of staff. He wanted Kelly to be a yes man.
Reince Priebus resigned for the same reason. He wasn't given the authority to do the job. It appears that Kelly was stronger and didn't cave in like Priebus did, so Trump said, "You're fired."

I don't know why he just doesn't make Sean Hannity his official chief of staff. He's been the unofficial chief of staff for quite some time anyway.
Oh wait, I know why, he can call him anytime he wants and that way Hannity wouldn't have to give up his 30 million dollar a year salary.
